A Lutheran Mission in Morgantown
Christ for Morgantown
St. John’s Lutheran Church is establishing a new LCMS preaching station in Morgantown: a place for the preaching of Christ crucified, the study of Holy Scripture, prayer, fellowship, and the historic worship of the Church.
Beginning this Advent, we will gather each Wednesday evening for a simple meal, Bible study, and Vespers.
Whether you are a lifelong Lutheran, a student looking for a church home, someone curious about historic Christianity, or simply wondering what Lutherans actually believe, you are welcome to join us.
For Morgantown and WVU
This is intentionally a “town and gown” ministry.
We hope to serve both the permanent community of Morgantown and the students, faculty, and staff of West Virginia University. Morgantown is more than a college town, and WVU is more than a campus. We believe a Lutheran presence here should serve both.
